Our volunteer programs are fun, feed the soul and contribute to the local community. In each region we visit, we identify organizations in the community that could benefit from our assistance. Together with these organizations, we assess needs of the communities and identify volunteer projects that bring value and significance to the beneficiary communities.
For our volunteer time, language is not a barrier because the experiences our travelers come away with go beyond verbal communication. Examples of community works include: cooking and serving the homeless, gardening in an orphanage, planting or harvesting grains in a community, planting trees, working in a wildlife recovery center, teaching at schools, building houses and wells, , and much more.
Beyond the volunteer work, each of our pre-scheduled itineraries includes a wellness portion which is a variety of wellness and leisure activities such as hiking, canoeing, bicycling, snorkeling, horseback riding, museums, musical recitals, shows and more. Activities are selected to deepen your personal contact with and expand your knowledge of the places you visit. In keeping with our goal for you to come back relaxed and refreshed, we set aside unscheduled time for you to enjoy as you please.
We keep our group sizes small to attend to travelers needs and to facilitate a personal connection between travelers and local people. Our groups are between 6 and 14 passengers – a minimum of 06 passengers are required for the trip to be confirmed.
We primarily book three and four-star accommodations in small hotels or pousadas. Our experience has shown that this type of establishment offers guests more direct contact with local hotel employees and owners attending to their businesses. We find that these less luxurious, but equally comfortable and charismatic places, provide more flexibility to the travelers. Often, the staff and owners of these establishments take great pleasure in going the extra mile to serve you and make you feel at home.
By design, we do not include all meals in our trips. This is your opportunity to explore the many restaurants, markets, coffee shops, bakeries, or secret spots that have been recommended.
We know how important a knowledgeable and dedicated guide is for the success of our trips. Our certified, bilingual guides have completed many hours of training and possess extensive knowledge of the areas in which they operate. In addition, our guides often have college degrees in relevant subjects such as architecture, history, biology, and marine sciences. Above all, we choose our guides for the love and care they demonstrate for the places and people they introduce us to.
